The food at the bar was outstanding; the room was a nice size and brand-new with armchairs, and a well-appointed kitchen had everything we wanted.

The apartment was tastefully decorated and brand-new with a stylish bathroom. The location was stunning in a domestic area, so close to Birdoswald Roman Fort. It was a lovely base for a trip.

As a solo traveler, I loved the private and separate annex at The Hollies On The Wall. The beautifully decorated room felt like a self-catering apartment with excellent facilities. The host, Jackie, was welcoming and attentive, even bringing me a slice of cake to welcome me. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of options, and the packed lunch option was convenient for my day of walking. The location was perfect for exploring Hadrian's Wall, and the peaceful village added to the overall tranquility of my stay. It truly felt like a home away from home, and I didn't want to leave.

I spent one night in Gilsland and it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and welcoming when I asked for tips about Gilsland. The location was particularly good, with excellent access to pubs and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.
